9 out 4 to go

I keep seeing stuffed animals in brooders. Why? Does it help the ducklings?

13 all hatched. 2 still have their butt in the egg so they can stay in the bator a while longer. Im all done for this month.
not bad for my 2nd hatch. 15 started, 2 none fertile, 13 fertile, 13 hatched and all alive.

ALL of them are white, no colour this time.

When I hatched out last month I had a staggered hatch, so Elliot was born and it gave him something to cuddle to so he didnt feel alone, but once Gemini came along I took the teddy out. I put it in with the babies just to give them someting to cuddle to..we are all soft in the head thats why we do it

"Soft in the head", I love it!

Great hatch Nicky!! 13 out of 13 is wonderful. You sure are going to have your hands full with those cuties now- after only having tht two of them so far- 13 is going to seem like 50 when they get bigger. Well done and I hope that you continue to have great hatches when you again set eggs.

Oh yes, I agree entirely with Oz about the multiple numbers. 2 was nice when I did the staggered hatch, but then the 7 2wks later, WOW 9 ducklings in the house up until a week ago. I'll never hatch again in October. Katharina was right, BTW has anyone heard from her lately? I haven't seen a post or reply from her on any threads or am I missing them?

I wont be keeping them, Im going to sell them, but if it takes a few weeks to sell them so be it, at least I will get to enjoy them for a while.
Ive got them split into 2 groups, the 5 from yesterday are all fluffed up and romping all over the place, 2 from over night were beating up the just born babies so they go moved over to the boisterous side so the others can fluff up in piece and quiet without being walkd all over. Bator is all cleaned and I have a load of eggs on the counter, so maybe tomorrow I will load it up again.
