I have two 9 week old Ameraucana that I’m not quite sure about. The black has a huge comb (looks like three rows) and what looks like the beginning of waddles. The splash has what looks like a smaller comb (looks to be single row) and no waddles but it has turned very pink in the last week. Cockerels or pullets?

Do they have slate colored legs? If not, they are not true Ameraucana. I didn't see any slate colored legs in the photos. A lot of places sell Easter Eggers but call them Americana. Different spelling, different breeds.

They do have slate legs! I also have so Cuckoo Maran babies in the back.

That’s interesting though because now that you mention it, the lighter of the two doesn’t have a beard or muffs. Also, splash isn’t a recognized Ameracauna color so he or she is probably mixed.

I have a pair of Blue (BBS) Ameraucanas. 1 cockerel, and 1 pullet. They all have the traits of Blue Ameraucana. I bought them sexed through Meyers Hatchery. They hatched August 28th, 2022. I do know by breeding that pair, I will end up with 50% Blue, 25% Black, and 25% Splash Ameraucana offspring. And all of them will have the slate colored legs. This is my first time owning chickens. I didn't buy them for breeding any specific breed for any specific reason. So I can't say as to if it's a recognized color or not. I can say the cockerel has been human friendly since day 1. But he's a little rough on the girls though. Some are missing feathers. It seems to be only the pullets who won't squat for him. I'm hoping that calms down with age, or else I might be looking for another rooster. And rough boy will be soup. The pullet is on the shy side and doesn't like being held. But lays a beautiful blue egg. I have a total of 15 chickens. 14 pullets, 1 cockerel. They're my only "true breed" pair. Which sounds wrong, considering they don't "breed true" in color.

In the first photo, the Blue Ameraucana pullet is on the far right. In the 2nd and 3rd pictures the cockerel is front and center, posing for a Captain Morgan's commercial. And the pullet is behind him. I can never get a good picture of the 2 of them together. LOL

Both cockerels

I am not sure about their gender, but they are not Ameraucana. They are Easter Eggers, as they don't possess slate legs, muffs, and a beard.
