It usually doesn't get you very far if you argue with instructors. I could write a book with all the nonsense and untruths various teachers have tried to cram down my throat. I am talking about provable verifiable fact here, not theory. This taught me that a great truth. A person can have all the education and college degrees in the world, and still not have any sense.

I agree! lol I barely told my advisor that there was no way I could get a hold of my English teacher and ever since then she gives me bad grades...I use to get A's :/ Now I get C's..She doesn't even tell me what I 'did wrong' on the assignments!!!

A lot of chickens can jump and flap to get airborne but they quickly lose altitude before gravity wins. Most of my birds fall into that category. My White Leghorn hens can make an impressive try at flying but they don't hold a candle to my Silver Sebrights. When we were working on an atrium to the house, we had a SS hen fly all the way to the top of it. It was only 15' high or so, but the ability to gain that kind of altitude is a clear sign of the ability to fly.

Send this to your teacher. This is definitely flight. The rooster takes off and loses altitude but then regains altitude mid flight.
