A Bielefelder Thread !

@Saris: Hatching eggs only need to have the health certificate and an import permission. I try to get an official document with the vaccines and tests that would meet the demands and a check list from the USDA for our district vet here, b/c of varying informations I got from websites and people at the USDA. With an official document I would feel much more confident talking to breeders about the inspections.
Doing tests and health certificates are in general a good thing. Noone wants to cause a out break of an disease but after the avian flue and all the scaremongering most people are not very happy to see an health inspector on their property.

Thanks.

I'm not even remotely in the realm of attempting an import unless it was part of a co-op group effort or something, but it's nice to try and get a handle on the regulations and things.

@RedBanks I have the opposite experience of my girls staring hopefull up at the house waiting for me to let them out of the little run which is 20 x 15!!!
Aren't they something? I have learned one thing about chickens, they are creatures of habit and do not like change. 20 X 15 is exactly what I have been planning. Do you have the run covered?
