A Bielefelder Thread !

You use whatever you have to at the time!
The coop is to the right, the first run is directly next to it, then the extension to the veggie garden which has 2x6 horrizontal beams. I really have to take better photos and organize them!
Oh my goodness...... I am so thankful I never have to face that snow. It is beautiful though! I think most of us grow into our chicken yard and I love when I see people repurposing, everyone's coop is unique and I love seeing them.

Now that's great! Nice lead in as well!
The really amazing thing to me is that there are 40 chickens out in the yard free ranging. Seven are Biels. They stay together and they really want to sleep on the porch. The rest of the chickens are out doing chicken things. All of them mingle with each other except the Biels. I am very interested to see what is going to happen with the one Biel chick I have. I have 13 new BCM chicks and 1 Biel pullet, they are 2 weeks old. Do you think when the pullet gets older she will hang with the Biels or the BCMs?

Last week the snow brought down the bird netting and bent over the wood stakes which were really posts for tomato plants! Time for some jerry-rigging. I tied 2x4s to the 3' metal fence posts, used rebar across the top, and attached the netting to that. It will do for now :)

That's an interesting question. In other words - I have no idea!

I would think, however, that it would depend on the personality of the little sole Biel. But it seems that Biels like to be "apples and apples" so she may very well gravitate towards the older Biels. Or not!

It wasn't the Raven it was the Bielefelders! I was sitting in the living room and I heard someone tapping on the door. They have discovered I am behind another door.

Well said.

Now that they "know where you live" I'll bet you have many visitors waiting at that door.

Mine do the same when they see me go through our garage's back door. I hear "peck....peck...peck" at the door in hopes that I will return again bearing treats.

Good job! Sometimes I am amazed at how well those kind of repairs work out.

That's adorable!!

Some one has imported the Silver Bielefelders? Or were you talking about the ones we all have?
As far as I know, these are the same bird as some people call them silver Bielefelders.
If there is another, I haven't seen it but sure would love to see it !

Is there photos anywhere ?
