I added a pair of beilie's last week. Lovely young birds

They were "given up" due to Indiana's rezoning and "ordinance changes" going on throughout the state...

I know the origin of the eggs (who won/hatched them), and am aware they are from RBA. Still following the info to determine the exact age, they have had 2 owners. I rescue and take in a lot of birds that are becoming homeless from this state wide rezoning. I rehome many of the younger birds to families that are a lil less fortunate locally, and can legally have chickens where they live.
We were spared during rezoning due to being zoned ag and well outside city limits, enough land to retain our AG status. Just read through this entire thread. These 2 will be staying, I have a cockerel and pullet pair. Aside from being terribly confused and frightened, they are certainly settling down fast. After the quarantine I plan to keep them and raise them for ourselves. Interesting history, and touches my heart a bit too, my Grandma was a German immigrant in 1912. Everything I know poultry came from her and my Dad.
I have noted so far on feed, they eat 1.5 ration more than my 3 adult American Lavender orp trio. Same sized feeder & waterer, same pen size. My LO are 2 years in March. Until I hear definitely from the person that hatched them, I will estimate they are 5-6 months old. Will try to get pictures soon. Have to say this was a nice surprise for me and a welcome addition
