Well... I've gone and done it. My Biel boy isn't lone anymore but I'm pretty sure my husband is going to divorce me now Lol
I'm very curious about this chicks color. The parents were a strange lavender/blue/cream mix with the male having black in his hackles. The chick seems almost white but it you look the feathers have a grayish tint in places, and it has splotchy pink and grey skin. It's eyelids are dark and it's legs are grey but it's toes are pink. Weird.

Awww, how cute. Though i have no idea what it could be, do you know what breeds the parents were? There are a few feather footed breeds

OMG! This is perfect!

I came home last night to discover that my dogs had destroyed two rolls of paper towels and found the sausage casings I had just purchased to making homemade sausage for the first time. *Sigh* The store we bought the casings from is an hour away. I guess I'll have to wait a little longer to make that sausage. (Bad dogs! Bad!)

Maybe they were trying to turn into "hot dogs" but they got it backwards - the casings go on the outside not the inside!!!!!

So cute! I hope you'll continue to post photos as it grows and develops. Sometimes their coloring can change so much from chick fluff.

The green spots are not normal for Bielefelders. They may disappear after he fully feathers??

They might, ill just keep an eye* on them. I tried to get a picture but they are hard to see and he isn't very still. He gas quite of few of the little greenish spots. I can barely see them in the picture.

looks like my welsummer eggs

Well I did a google search, it shows bielefelder hens do look very similar to Welsummer hens, they probably have a good amount of Welsummer genetics, maybe that's why she laid an egg that looks like this. I don't think anyone knows exactly what breeds were used to create bieles. I read that Gerd Roth used Cuckoo Malines, Amrock, Wyandotte, New Hampshire and Rhode Island Reds. Probably Welsummers to, they look so similar and she laid a dark egg that looks like a Welsummers to.
