had to have a stupid colonoscopy today... which means I won't have a good excuse for the rest of the week!

at least I don't have to have another one for the next 10 years... thank goodness!!
Hope this went well! Don't buy anything today, they say that anesthesia is bad stuff!

yes, went well. stayed in Amarillo the night before.

also got abused some more by having to get up at 5 am... (I stay up late, and get up late.. too many 2nd and 3rd shifts when younger.. grins)

but was a bad girl, I drove myself home.. after I had taken a two hour nap... procedure was at 1:15 and I was on my way home at 6.. ha

hubby is now night blind and can't drive.

also didn't eat soft foods when I finally got to eat... I needed something right now!!! it was chicken nuggets and sweet tea at Wendy's for me.. easy to eat while driving.. don't have to have another colonoscopy for 10 years..

hubby survived the trip. and my eggs go into lockdown tonight!

Sounds like a very big day. You must be exhausted. You are NOT supposed to drive yourself but you know that! Sweet tea cures everything but McDonalds has the best. Glad you are fine and back with us!

Jumpy- afraid of us. Our Marans are total opposite

Personally that would not be a reason for me to get rid of them. Biels are really great birds. Give them time. They are young.

Alright... I ordered that many based on their awesome reputation. I'll take your word for it

Individually we all have different expectations of what we want in our birds. In our mind we see that some breeds may not be as prolific, or friendly, or perfect, as we imagine and compare with other breeds we've had. Every breed has their own particular characteristics and I have accustomed myself to finding not just the negative about a breed, but find some positives too. Sometimes it takes a couple to three years before deciding on which breeds are the ones you really love and which ones you won't continue in the future. I've really liked a couple egg-laying breeds but had to re-home them when I found they didn't have the flock compatibility with others that I was looking for and chose a different breed that worked better for me. That's what I love about so many chicken breeds - there's something for everyone's expectations.

I can ship you eggs up to April 1st...after that, the dept of AG is shutting down all incoming fowl & eggs into Florida, unless they are tested the day before shipment...that means if you guys in Florida want shipped eggs (or fowl) you will have to pay for a vet test, so the box has a form included from the day of shipment...I have mixed opinions on this & the best one is to shut up & move on cuz this ticks me off! Oh welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will you still be shipping them elsewhere? Where are you located?

As far as the flighty biels I can't comment on them BC I don't own any yet but they're on my want list. Now as far as other birds being flighty many of our pullets were flighty as chicks or got so just before point of lay and almost all of them of many breeds became much less flighty and much sweeter after starting to lay including our EE, wyandottes(though still not the friendliest), Isa browns, oegb, and our buff orps. Most noticeable are our orps, EE, and our oegb. Idk why they settle after starting to lay but I'm glad they do BC our EE were terribly flighty until they began laying now they're some of our friendliest birds.
Hth

Okay not to turn you guys off of MCD's sweet tea but my mother and I have both personally gotten tea there before only to find mold floating in our cups on more than one occasion. I no longer drink their sweet tea and usually skip the unsweetened as well my Mom does still drink it though. I have since heard many horror stories from people that I have known who've had similar experiences and one person who worked there legs just say ewww! Part of the reason I pass on their sweet tea although I love tea.

On a totally other note if you like lemonade last year Wendy's had a blackberry lemonade that was to die for hoping they come out with it again this year. You should all try it if it comes back its terrific!
