A Bielefelder Thread !

Hello everyone, we bought ten Bielefelder chicks last week and am excited about starting a flock. My father was born about 60 miles from Bielefeld, they are a piece of the home country for him.

my great grandfather was born east of Stettin. Border was closed in 1956 when my parents and I were in LA Rochelle France. Still looking for relatives from there all these years.

Stettin - yes, I remember driving through there. When I worked for the Army in Germany we made frequent trips to the Baltic.
Genealogy searches are hard sometimes in Germany with the war having destroyed so much.

Ditto on the welcome! Do share photos of your flock!!!!

Purchasing some beil chicks in next month or 2. Wanting them to be primary beed around our little farm. For eggs and meat. Was thinking about buying 2 cockrels and 8 pullets.... Any thoughts

Any pics on cleanest and effective brooder waterers and feeders?
Funny you should mention this. I have lots and lots of chicks right now. The amount of feed being wasted is crazy. Today I was checking out Biels on youtube and I saw the neatest water and feed setup I have ever seen. I sent it to my sister. It looks like a closet maid shelf was used but check it out. Never seen such a nice setup!
