I finally got some closer photos of my Biel mixes from Mama Lily's hatch. They're becoming a little friendlier but it's requiring a fair amount of work to win over their confidence. Sorry about the coloring in the photos. Believe it or not, the background was a mauve/pink, but with the blue light from outside the color was unusual and temperamental.

Is my little Chickpea going to be a hen or a roo?

I had one look almost the same. HE has a faded eyeline stripe and a light to white spot on his head. The poullett had a very defined eyeliner stripe and just the dark stripe on her head. At about 3 weeks his eyeliner was completely gone and he started to grow a comb. She still has the eyeliner. If I bread these I will be going off the eyeliner stripe, I also had a Roo that was ginger in color...Roo from day one.
The top pic is what I thougt was a hen, Roo-2, the bottom pick is my hen and 'La Roo.
Good luck, they really do grow fast, faster then the Marans, Orppingtons, Favorelle, and Gold Laced Cohins we had, but a very calm and docile.
