A Brinsea Experience

Thank you a lot for your information. Do I change the percentage of rh I am trying to keep it at all the way up to the shutdown phase?
I know I will have to adjust the amount if water it will take to keep it at that percent as the eggs' needs change

If you don't have the ex model changing RH won't do anything. Only way to change RH on the main screen is to add a little water at a time and let it stabilize. I say little cause drop in mine changes % easily.

I bought the Ovation Advance 56 in September and had 2 bad hatches. They were late hatchers and less then half actually hatched. The others were fully formed in the shell and died there. I got a sensor to find out what was going on and I found the temp would hold for a bout 12 hours then steadily head down even though the temp showed 99.5 on the display. If I bumped up the temp it would get back up to 99.5 for a while then decline again. Now the fan has gone out. I scrimped and saved to get this incubator and am not happy about the performance. Have eggs incubating and now, with a holiday weekend, I have lost 56 eggs. I don't want to deal with trying to replace a fan when the temp sensor is not right either. Beyond upset right now.

I splurged on the ovation 56 fully auto model in aug. I bought mine off ebay from an individual for a great price, when it arrived I noticed that it had been set up and ran...... ugh. I set it up and transfered my staggered eggs that still needed more time into it and set my old bator up in hatching mode as it holds humidity very well. The brinsea did very well. After a successful staggered hatch I qued it back up for another run and that's when my fan went...... well shoot. I still had my cheap knockoff bator so I transfered the eggs into it and called.... now because I had purchased from an individual not a store it was considered second hand, but the folks at brinsea sent me a replacement fan anyway! I am very happy with their service. I have eggs in it again with 26 that just hatched and another 10 due in a week or so.... I love the fact that the temp is rock steady and it will keep the temp where I want it, that was my biggest complaint with my old bator is that it is impossible to hit any humidity below 50% with consistency now lock down is a breeze in the old bator cuz the humidity will jump way up there and stay.....I also love the ability to remove just one tray at a time and that all the egg turners are not conected

here you can see I have it set up so that I could hand turn the turkey eggs in the middle (I had not received the jumbo trays yet) and left the smaller eggs in the auto turners... this worked very well
