A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I wish mine would like them more. I have better success with getting my turkeys to try new foods than my chickens. If I hand a turkey a bit of unfamiliar food they will at least try it. The chickens just look at me like I'm crazy.

also one is in love (wink wink) with a certain large long pumpkin/gourd .. which is better than the waterer another one is dumping in his efforts .. JAKES!!

It really depends on what kind of pumpkins you are feeding them. Pie pumpkins are devoured very quickly while field/jack-o-lantern types last for days. I have had them eat the pie pumpkins as soon as they set on the vine.

If your chickens are bad about new foods, you should try getting a guinea to eat something new.

Thanks R2elk...I'm going to try the pie pumpkins. I've only ever used the jack-o-lantern type.
Guineas!! For amusement I will read through some of the posts on the guinea threads! What characters they are! I would LOVE to have a flock. Just dont have the room. Wonder what my neighbors would think confronted by a roving band of guineas! Hopefully, someday, Ill be able to have some. In the meanwhile I just have to live vicariously through the guinea threads!
