A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Haven't been on in awhile. I have a few turkeys left my flock got destroyed by some dogs. so I'm starting over in spring.

Glad to see everyone's turkeys are doing well.

So sorry for your losses. Other than the guineas all being taken by Great Horned owls, I have lost more poultry to other people's dogs than from any other cause.

Hope your next flock has better luck.

Feisty...been meaning to ask....how many of the bourbon boys do you have. And Turkulas?

Still have 3 bourbon boys that get along fine with everyone and each other (they are sweet) ....and Turkules that gets along with no one (including us). I think I may have DH take care of him one of these days - he loves to fight and it's a little tiring to watch my back when he's near :/

Feedman - I love bourbons and Narragansetts, I'm looking forward to pics when you get them started!

Feedman - good to hear from you, and sorry about the losses. Cool about the new bator... you're going to hatch a few batches in that one :)

Aurora - of course you need another cabinet bator :p

Ralph - love the picture of Snitch, she's cute and she knows it! The battle over the deck kills me :gig

Holm - you'd better be hatching a pile of Mr T babies, we're dying to see what comes from him!!

JR - the midgets are getting big, we expect more pictures!

Bird related, but not turkey related.... I decided that the house is too quiet now that we don't have indoor critters anymore. So drove a few hours this morning and picked up a couple souls that were needing a new home :). They traveled surprisingly well (and quietly). I'm sure that they'll create enough noise once they get comfortable lol.

Oh, they're beautiful! I always admire the conures at the pet shop around here. I had a cockatiel named Sunshine when I was little. I loved that bird but he loved my dad (who was against me getting him in the first place lol). I wouldn't mind a small parrot now like a parollette or conure but what I'd really like is an umbrella cockatoo or African grey :)

Just saw this spot on morning news about this years hottest toys for kids. One was a "Hatchable". This big egg that eventually hatches open if the kid keeps it warm. Some kind of bird looking thing pops out. With all the talk about bators & hatching around here...I just had to giggle!

I would have loved the larger birds too, but wasn't prepared to make the 80 year commitment that some of them require :)

$400 for a fake egg, that fake hatches and turns into a fake animal????? OMG, it's crazy what people will pay for! LOL.
