A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

It is a primitive bacteria, it has a cell membrane but no wall, making it act somewhat like a virus yet not. Most bacteria are defeated in the body by breaking the cell wall. The bacteria then dies.
That's also why most antibiotics do not work on Mycoplasma. Penicillin, for example, breaks the cell wall... Nothing to break on the Mycoplasma bacterium. The few that do "work" only put it into stasis by messing with the DNA.

Let us know what the test results say... I'm still hoping for an allergy. :fl

Ralphie, since you show, I have a question..

What is your take on exhibiting birds that though not symptomatic do test positive for Mycoplasma? I know showing obviously ill birds is a duh no... But carriers seems a bit hazy.

I do not have any reliable source, but I have heard Mycoplasma is not transferred bird-to-bird if they are in a "remission" of sorts, i.e. not showing symptoms. Need to do more research.

prayers it is just the sawdust

prayers that if it isn't the toads are ok

The toads will be ok, The State Vet says if I destroy the turkeys. The chickens are not required to be tested as they assume they all have it.

I have problems, morally, with this approach, but they write the rules.

On that note I have 11 turkey eggs hatching Friday...They may never even get a chance to draw a breath of fresh air..

And I just put 13 toad eggs into the incubator. 13 eggs is the least amount I have ever put into the incubator.

So they'd let you keep selling even though other birds in your flock tested positive? That makes no sense.
