A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I use a 2 x 4 on it's side for my chickens and 2 x 6 on its side for the turkeys. That way all toes stay flat and covered over the winter and don't get frostbite. I have them mounted over poop boards. If you go to the link and scroll about 2/3 of the way down, you'll be able to find my roost setup for the chickens. Turkeys are set up pretty much the same way but with 2 x 6 instead. There is a small picture of the turkey coop setup about 1/4 of the way down too but it's harder to see.

Aurora, I love your website! I started getting distracted by it, so I bookmarked it to go back and read the whole thing later.

I have a Weebly website too. I find Weebly extremely frustrating to work with, although it might be my computer loading too slow. Or internet explorer. But Chrome is no better. How do you like Weebly?

Finnie, He's a really pretty bird.
Thank you!

Good save Finnie!
Thanks. He's my favorite tom, so I'm glad I was there.

I am willing to bet the turkey learned nothing from the accident...They never do...
You are exactly right. I told him he should sleep on his old roost, but no, he went back up on the kennel. He did stay in the middle, though, far away from the gap. He let Huckleberry have the spot near the gap. Turkeys also don't learn from their friends' mistakes either.

The hen is a large fowl Cochin. Blue color. And I’m trying to get a close up picture of her but she doesn’t care to be handled most of the time. Her name is Flash for a good reason! She has always been extremely fast and hard to catch. She’s not mean once you get ahold of her but would rather be left alone. I’ll trick her with a treat though.

i cant figure out how to make a site on there  i have tried a few times

Thank you @Finnie!

Honestly, I haven't done any work to it in quite a while. I plan to do some serious updating to it soon. Our computer is very slow too so it's a long and drawn out process to do anything with it. Probably why I haven't done anything in a while. They also removed some free features that I really liked before and I refuse to pay for premium. Maybe I'll get back on it this weekend. I'd really like to add individual breed pages and I may try to figure out how to seperate each blog entry in to it's own page. It's a pain having to scroll down to find things. I just don't want to start over on a different domain.

DW took a video of birds being introduced to pumpkin. One of the BRs was on the outside of the fence, you know the one he jumped over five minutes ago?.. He was in total panic cause he was being left out and couldn't get through that giant fence.:lau

Turkeys out enjoying some sun between the rain.

Perches, dog kennel has sweet pdz in it as a temporary poop catcher under the area they all sleep. May add a horizontal 2x4 for perching but vertical was the only way it could screw into the side studs. Not cold enough yet for any frozen toes here.

I screwed a block into the side studs and then the flat 2x4 onto the block
