isnt your mom a vet? lolDo I need to worm my turkeys?
i have heard copper pennies help too (real ones)I wonder if people who add ACV have less of that funky odor? I'm assuming it's a bacterial growth from the murky slime feel of it. I use a plastic waterer so I could try ACV and see if it helps.
Also... daylight savings is nearing. Everyone loves leaving and coming home in total dark, right? Ugh
is she in with turkeys? my turkeys were eating the feathers on one of my chickensView attachment 1176643 Hey gang got a quick question about one of our Chickens. I know this is the turkey section but you all seem to know about chicken as well. I have a blue large fowl Cochin hen who is over all very healthy. I noticed a bald spot on her chest/neck area about 2 weeks ago. Figured it was just a normal feather pulling incident but today I noticed it isn’t really even starting to grow back yet and the skin there seems thick and yellow instead of the normal whitish flesh color. Also the skin around her face is turning yellowish. Still acting normal-eating and drinking great. Hasn’t layed in awhile but neither have the other hens. Any ideas?
I have had a lot of birds, this is true of all their water dishes. They do not have lips, when they drink what ever is in their mouths runs out into the water if it is downhill. (Backwash) They swish their beak when they drink. Your nipple waterers stay clean, they are up-hill.Question: what in bird's mouths makes their water dishes smell so foul? (didn't use fowl pun here) Like from the smallest canary to chickens/turkeys it can be not even 24 hours since changing water and it has that slimey stank beginning.
No not molting. Only one spot on chest. No other symptoms. Acting totally normal. Eating and drinking normal. Yes she is in with turkeys. Haven’t seen mites since early summer when we dusted them all. She’s about a year and a half old. Will try getting a closer picture real quick. Only thing besides the spot is her head seems discolored also. Almost yellowish under her feathers
I would love a closer picNo the only hens laying right now are the silkies and that’s only about every other day. She stays out with the others all day and goes to bed like normal at night. It’s very odd really. No one else has any bald spots or yellow skin color.
Can you please tell my other half to Sift the flower and not just dump 4 cups into the mix PLEASE he wont listen to me LMAO it weighs alot when he is doneLookit this delicious bread I made!

Went well with the crock pot chuck roast and horseradish mashed potatoes!
I think my husband and my animals just keep me around because I feed them so well!
