My tom that had the pvc cutter accident looked much better today..

Ok so my youngest daughter had the two turkeys out of the brooder for some cuddle time pretty soon I hear her calling for help and I go down to see thisView attachment 1195839 the little t-rex's had her trapped and she couldn't get a hold of them lol

I am thinking these guys could teach your youngster the value of a good cap, hat or hair net as they age...:gig:gig:gig:gig:gig

And if she fails to grasp that concept, Proctor and Gamble stock will go up in value as she learns the value of a cheap shampoo that you use in vast quantities...:lau:lau

Well they managed to miss her head and poop on the stool she was hunched over lol

Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all had good times with your families. Ralphie, I hope you are feeling better.

Other than googling urgent questions that pop up in my mind randomly, I haven't had much time to be on the internet. I see that I am 22 pages behind in posts in this thread! So I just skipped them all to say hi.

I sold all my juvenile turkeys that I had kept for myself, except for the prettiest one. They were causing trouble going over to the neighbors too often. And they also went to the same neighborhood that Swan went to last year. I got home to find a note from someone over there giving their address and phone number, saying they had corralled them all (about 5 or 6) up in their fenced back yard and I could come get them. Ha ha, shows how much they know about turkeys and fences! They were all back home before I was!

So I only have my three adults left and the one jenny. I'm hoping that without a mob to lead her into trouble, she'll stay home. But this morning I saw her on the neighbor's fence, poised to jump in. She didn't respond when I made the little turkey call noise, so I had to run to the slider door and make a big noisy deal out of opening it. That got her to come running! They all know when that door opens, food usually comes flying out of it.

So we will see whether or not little Sugarberry gets to stay.

Oh, and we saw our first fox on Thanksgiving in the middle of the afternoon. It came back at dawn the next morning. That could explain the pullet I lost the week before. Will a fox eat every bit of the bird but leave the intestines? Just a line of intestines and a few feathers was all I found, right under the tree branch where she was in the habit of sleeping at night. I've been trying to figure out what predator leaves that. At first I assumed owl, or something that would climb a tree. But now that we've seen a fox, that seems most likely. Well, so now I've started using a hockey stick to get the tree dwellers down at night. Unless they are too high up to reach.

Congrats Ralphie! Any idea how it's bred?

Girls attacked another cat this evening on our stroll. It was following its owner who was out with her little daughter for a walk. Both girls dropped wings and started for the cat immediately. They INSTANTLY moved in for the....kill? I literally had to a step in front of them, which gave the cat a chance to escape. I wish I could have taken a picture of the cat...complete disbelief. It was a look of horror! That cat will have nightmares tonight!
