A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

You are sounding just like the WWD...

She put fake winter flowers and lights in her flower boxes around the deck a week or so ago. I laughed at her for doing it and asked why...

The next day the turkeys had rearranged everything she put in the boxes... They have their own sense of style and they will keep things the way they like them....

I am thinking she over did the decorations as the turkeys seemed to think less in each box looked better.
WWD?

Yeeks! Cold here in the south! Only 27 this morning. Ok R2elk & Ralphie....I realize thats potentially a heat wave for you two....but down here we think we are about to die! HOWEVER...I was perfectly cosy yesterday evening sitting out in the yard enjoying the birds with my favorite lapper Daisy! This is the time of year lappers come in handy. What great hand warmers. Love it!
Yesterday afternoon I found both turkeys sprawled in a sunny dust bath with the two young Speckled Sussex. Funny that those little guys still hang out with the turkeys and not the old chicken hens. I have a 2x4 roost under as large holly tree in their yard. It's only about a foot off the ground. And a favorite turkey hangout. The holly branches droop to the ground so it's well shaded and provides overhead cover. Several times I've found one turkey on either end of the roost with the little SS perched between them. Funny how the little SS prefer hanging out with the turkeys....

I have to say, the turkeys enjoy the colder weather. They were silly this morning. They also look like they weight 60 pounds each all fluffed up. With those neck feathers fluffed I can see barely more than eyes & beaks poking out.....pretty cute.

Memphis, that's really cute :)

It's a whole 25 here this morning and I'm dragging going out to feed the flock :/ It's funny, I've lived here all my life but I still can't handle the winter temps lol.
I'm with you on dragging feet. I watch the temps. I go for the highest point in the day. I'd rather go out at 33 than 27. (sigh), but if the high is 0 degrees, so be it. It's currently 28 headed to 33 (my point!) with snow flurries. Feels like 23 right now. so SAD!:hit

It was 30°F here this morning. It is up to 40°F now. The sun is shining, the wind is blowing and the snow is melting and it is 76°F in the greenhouse because I opened the door to cool it off. Yes @memphis I do have ripe Gold Nugget tomatoes.

it was 12 deg here in Colorado this morn..... not supposed to get over 35 and there is nothing "warm" about it lol. someday I may have a green house but then I would need more time, as it is I do chores in the morn and eve with a head lamp cuz it is dark before I go to work and before I get home ..... sigh I want the sun back
