A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Yeah Jerry...I've decided Mr. Owl is standing by his woman. I need to get into the backyard & see if I can find the nest in the magnolia. Anyone ever eat an owl egg? Kidding!! I'm sure that nest falling out of a tree is a Federal offense. Kidding...again!

Oooo baby owlets in the magnolia! Magnolias are great climbin trees.... :gig. Jus go snap us a few peeksures will ya? I am for sure you wont come off too badly damaged. :lau.

Turkey tail tribulations! Annie sure likes to display. Daisy, hardly ever. Annie will stick those tail feathers up at the drop of a hat...literally. She is defiantly the drama queen around here. Sorry for the repeat picture...I just think she's cute!View attachment 1312874

I love this picture of her! She's stunning!

Soooo I’m new to the whole turkeys and eggs thing.

I want to test some eggs for fertility to see if an incubator is worth my while or if I need a new tom first, lol. So how would I do so?

Can I leave them pointy end down in a cool 60-65 degree room for a few days and see if anything is forming? Do they need turning or is that just when they get heat/humidity?

Such a newbie, lol. Sorry for the dumb questions!

nothing will form until a egg is sat on or around 100 for over 24 hrs...and you can't see much the first few days.
If you see a bullseye good to go... sometime the first few eggs aren't fertile

Soooo basically you’re saying I need an incubator to test for sure.

I looked at the first laid eggs and didn’t see any bullseyes but I’ll try again next omelette day with a newer few. I get good discounts at the feed store I work at but we only carry the cheapest little giant incubator and I don’t see the best of reviews on it.
