A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

When you get the answer to this could you share it with the rest of us?
I have an answer to this, Ralphie, but you won't like it. ;)
Fermented feed.
When I started adding a dish of fermented feed to my brooders last year, suddenly the bedding was no longer 50% crumbles. They still got their hanging feeders of crumble, but they really loved the FF better. They would eat it all up and clean the dish.

I have since quit fermenting feed for my flock, because I took a break from it in the winter when it was freezing too quickly. That's when I discovered that chores were just that much easier when I didn't have to stir the bucket and dish out feed. But I was so pleased with using it for the chicks last year, that I plan to ferment enough just for the brooders when (if) I get anything to hatch.

Speaking of which, I'm afraid Elderberry is not doing his job this year. Today was day 7 for my turkey eggs, and they all candled clear. :( I'll wait a few days and check them again. And I went ahead and set this week's batch just in case. I sure hope it's a case of the first eggs laid just weren't fertile yet. (Although I've not seen that before.)

Your answer is fine, I just won’t do it because of the nutrition percentages changing. And I don’t have time for it.

Here are the 2 penciled poults and the one bourbon that I kept. Not the best pictures but that's the best my little TracFone will take. I was making weird noises at them and they puffed up for me lol. Don't mind the messy brooder. It gets cleaned out tomorrow.

Sooooo CUTE!

BTW I think R2elk came and swapped out my bellybutton turkeys with tolerants to prove his link on aggression and feed... the one that kept jumping on me and wing slapping me hasn't in about a week... the day after I kept the chickens feed away from him, he pecked my hand that held the chicken feed... and the next day he grabbed my pant leg.... nothing since then... He let me pet him today!

I have a depressed TOM. I have thought since the Bellybutton went to my friends for Easter Dinner he has looked depressed. This morning he was just stumbling around. I am going to give him a couple Tom Friends today. I am afraid he will die if he does not get out of this funk. The life has even seemed to leave his eyes.

Edited to add: he is a long turkey with the chickens.

The hens do not need them any more.
