A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I bout fell over laughin when i saw those lil poults tryin their darndest to get back under him and him doin the fluffy dancin walk squat at them. Eesh! Jerkface! Lol. He was all proud of heselfs too.. head all straight up, hissin at paul and cooin at them under him. He was probly sayin hey maman dont keel me i will be good turkey dad to poults as i try keel you from behind or to the side or a full frontal.

Oy... First 16 days of this hatch, humidity held between 50-55%. Yesterday afternoon, it was suddenly 45. I added water, and 2 hours later it was 67. I've removed and added tiny amounts of water 6 times since, and it's either high 40s or low 60s every time I go back to check. So frustrating.

I assume that you are incubating turkey eggs. For the first 25 days I try to keep my humidity around 35%.

So if it's bouncing like that, next time it gets below 50 I should let it be? Temp is fluctuating with humidity too - my wife just texted it's at 101.1 and 65%, so we need to stabilize it pretty quick.

I would make an effort to first get the temperature stabilized and second get the humidity down (approximately 35%) and keep it down until lockdown.

So got home from work and 10 are out of their shells but still not fluffing up much. I noticed humidity jumped to 88% so I removed 7 of the ones that hatched yesterday and were trampling every other egg and poult. Left the 3 more soggy ones in.

One spot of my brooder is 98-100 and they’re all curled up under it and one is still shaking. It hatched overnight but that’s been more than 6 hours ago. I assume more from exhaustion than cold? They’re starting to fluff up more now that they’re out.

So the one egg that’s pipped at the wrong end has some blood around the membrane edges? It’s beak is out and I can see breathing but the bloody edges have me concerned.
