A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Five stores shopping for your turkeys....your a good turkey parent! LOL! Hope the little guys toes straighten out!

Hot, hot, hot! This kind of heat is scary. Going to get worse as the week progresses. Blah!

Hey all. Sorry been busy and skipped a ton of posts.

I had a hen doing the lost clicking sound last night by our living room window. We found a nest just into the woods, something had sucked the eggs dry. I am assuming skunk or coon. Trap time!

I have to move my poults to a covered run this morning. they are too large for cages any more. They grow up so fast.

Today the meaties get to meet the butcher. Heading out in a few, was fun getting them all loaded up into crates last night lol. Will be interesting to see what a few of those big roosters weigh in at!

So far the poult kicked off its foot taping (and the others helped peck it) but it is walking fine and isn’t holding the talons in a clenched position like before when picked up. Just the middle and outer toe now are somewhat sideways. I’ll still probably just give her a discount on that one in case she has to cull it down the line.

I even bought shiny green marbles to put in their feed and water to keep them distracted/figure out food better but toes with cardboard are more fun!

My mornin with some leetle big friends. And my sg has started layin again. Yay!

The birds sure enjoyed their chilled watermelon. Our heat index is up to 106. Employing all the fans, wading pools & misters I can muster. I just feel so bad for them. All are panting. Egg production, however, has not dropped....surprisingly. Other than the panting....they seem fine.
