A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Depends... when you live in an area where people pay 4x as much for non gmo fed birds and seek you out over conventional fed then it pays off. But yes, it’s a marketing scheme for the most part.

You'll be up to your knees in bug eyed babies!!
That's the plan..... I am curious to see what colors I get these 2 look to be a bronze so far.....I set the broody up in her own crate. Darn bird was raised by someone else and she is Wild..... I was happy that she took to the crate, she now has 10 eggs under her so we will see what happens in 27 days.

If you have something that works go for it! Here I must run in the wrong crowd for that..... usually I am just happy to have all my eggs sold..... lol

@Molpet Contact Fertrell and see who makes feed closest to you with their products. I personally don't care about organic, but do care about non-gmo. I'm having the same fight with feed yet again. First the co-op decided they weren't going to buy non-gmo grains anymore. They took my custom order and when the feed didn't show up, just said we're not doing that anymore. Found another feed company and one day feed didn't show up, "we're not shipping there anymore...":rant:mad: Now I'm buying feed I don't really like an hour away, but will soon be able to go visit the Amish in KY and figure out feed from them. I'm really tempted to just buy the grains from them and the other stuff I need from a mill across town from them and make my own. Feed is a pain...

I dont know....non GMO, organic.....I dont have the gumption to track down feed like that. I don't have the time to mix my own either. Nor the knowledge to do it correctly. Guess I could educate myself...but again...too much time & brainpower involved. I do buy from a locally owned small business family feed store vs TSC. Just like to support local small businesses.

The concept of feed without the worst of the pesticides is very appealing to me.. the tests that have been run show the organics do have much less. There also have been cases of grain shipped from one country to another that arrived as conventional feed and left as organic. So no too trustworthy. Also the certification process is a little sketchy and sounds like a money maker.
The co op mill I was buying from was local grains and Fertrell products. They did drop the organics in April and raise prices on the transitional non gmo feed. But they decided to shut down the feed division July 30th because they are not making enough.
The fertrell locator has my old place, places 3hrs away , one sells landscape products, one has no internet presence or phone number. One is a bakery/farm I am going to contact them and see if they have any leads
