Back to 110 heat index again. Blah! At least the girls got a slight break over the weekend. Fans & wading pools fully deployed. I'm surprised they are all still laying in this heat. Little troopers!!

Poor girls! That's really hot! It's been low 90s here and super miserable. Still have a few laying but they have really slowed down. Have 2 that are super broody, trying to hatch their plastic eggs. Need to break them of it, starting to worry, they don't eat or drink enough when they're super broody.

Yes, they are tri tri colored but I'm not sure if they're penciled palms or what they are though lol. I've asked numberous times as they've been growing on the Turkey color genetics 101 Facebook page but haven't gotten an answer yet :/

Yeah tomorrow is supposed to hit close to 95 and I’m concerned my triple broody bunch will overheat or bake the eggs. They have at least 10 eggs under them.

Hmmm. I don't remember seeing those on the genetics group. I would have commented on them. They definitely look to be tricolor pencil palms b1b1cgcgnnRrpnpn. They look overall darker compared to mine, so I was curious.

Aurora...would love to see close ups of the feathers on Phil & Lil...if you get a chance. I'm intrigued by their color/pattern too.

well one of the white oldest poults (hatched 5/8) wasn't looking well yesterday. This early morning it was in the nest box with it's chicken mom who seems to be going broody again.. I just found it dead, in the box.. mom didn't want me to take it out. It bet it was the white one that stayed out during the 4th of july storms.
so I currently have 14 poults... 6 white(calico?) and 8 brown(bronze or nari or?)
I set 26 eggs under 5 broody hens hoping for 3 of each sex. So I still have a few spares.
I wonder how many I will have left by thanksgiving.
