I dont know why i thought she would not know she was missin one. They are not completely daft as adults. But both times she has lost one she seemed to know it.

I have read numerous times that they cannot count. They may not be able to show the researchers that they can count but they definitely can recognize other turkeys and they definitely notice when any are missing.

Geez....thought Daisy ran away from home! Had been working in the yard. Had the man door to the garage open. Guess she wandered in. Put my stuff up, closed the door & went to round up the girls for bed. No Daisy. Looked everywhere. No response to my calls. Was about to panic. Finally dawned on me that Annie was standing by the door yelping at me. Apparently trying to tell me to open the door. Yep....there she was. And not too happy about it either.

The snake left me a prize! The snake left me a prize! Paul will be all crazy now that he can have turkey eggs for his breaky again. The other three.... sittin a nest. Eesh! Red is still singin it loud and proud in his bachelor pad with no ladies to attend.

Ahhh....is there anything better than coming home to your turkey hens peering in the back door? Got a couple of hen hugs. Sure does relieve the stress of work! Yep....they are worth their feathers in stress relief.
