Hopefully next year I will be able to get an order from Porters. This year did not work out and the 2 pencilled cross ones in my 2017 order died day of delivery. Just bad luck and an Aug delivery was rough on them.
I have enjoyed this thread and stories of the antics of some peoples birds. I admit I am a lurker by nature on forums like this. th (16).jpg
 
My order from Porter's in 2017 didn't work out for me either. All but 3 died under 6 weeks old (most in the first 2 weeks). 1 died around 8 weeks old. It was a failure they've and wasn't really growing. Pirate made it to about laying age which I'm not positive if she ever laid or not but she seemed to get botulism and died. Mister is the only one I have left from that order. I'm thankful that he was the survivor though. He was the one penciled (semi) that was sent.

Wow! I ordered from Cackle. Not as fancy, but of the seventeen they sent, I still have 15 after seven weeks. All healthy so far. :fl
 
Our neighborhood is busy getting ready for our 4th parade. Everyone's yard is groomed. All houses are decorated. Most dogs are sporting red, white & blue bandanas. As are their owners. This is our 70th year! Hot as h***. Floats all ready. Kids getting bikes decorated! We have hundreds of folks each year. Neighborhood cookout tonight. R2elk, no hamburger for me....sausage only!
Been working in the front under Daisy's supervision. Neighbors wandering around everywhere...much to her delight! Shes such a social gadfly. I think I had a dozen kids sitting around in the front yard with her going from lap to lap. I was weeding & eavesdrops on them. Big discussion about decorating bikes. Most decided Daisy should ride on the firetruck. Kids were so good....just let Daisy casually wander amongst them. They all understand she is banded from all 4th parade activities. Too much chaos. Too many strange dogs. Grown ups got a kick out of all the kids sitting around with a turkey and not the conventional puppy. And happy their kids are outside & not on a device!
