A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Daisy is schooling the poults. Turning them into proper southern ladies! Miss Iris was lounging in my lap. Daisy waddled up & just stood there staring at her. She promptly hopped down. They have figured out Daisy gets over ruling lap rights. Had Miss Poppy walk up & crane her neck to survey my lap. Saw Daisy & wandered off.

I have a reluctant lapper in Junior. He follows me around, when I am in the coop area.

I have an electrified netting covering the 2 sides easiest for the predators to attack from. With the buildings it makes a 3 sided pasture with only the side towards to house open.

I was sitting in it watching one of the pieces of the broken cat play. Jr was standing next to me. I reached out and grabbed him and put him on my knee.

He sits there without struggling when I have my arm gently over him. However, his head goes through several color changes before going back to normal. He will relax and even allow his snood to relax.

I can take my arm off him for a minute or two at a time. However, he is happy to jump down when I let him. He still hangs right next to me when he gets down.

Most of my younguns hang close to me. I have tried holding the girls but they scream and fight. It would be better to hold one of the smaller birds as Junior is huge. I think he will be the largest Tom I own soon.

I hope he’s gonna be a perfect pet turkey for you, Ralphie!
