My garden was destroyed by hail the other day but it is still producing. I stopped by and the unauthorized incubator in the garden was talking quietly. I looked closer and could see an empty egg shell. Then I saw a poult in front of her. As she lifted up a little, I could see another poult just under her feathers. Then I was able to see a whole lot of little legs going every which way.
Sweetgrass
poult with a dill seed on its beak
Mama got off the nest to reveal 8 new poults and one half shelled egg that was nearly done zipping.
I collected the 8 to move them to the brooder.
Unauthorized incubator #3.
The egg that was partially zipped had a moving beak sticking out. It was partially shrink wrapped but alive. I popped the top of the egg off and removed the shrink wrap. I then put it under unauthorized incubator number one.
