A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I was trying to teach DQ to be a turkey falcon today.

She will sit on my arm just fine, but she does not fly back and land on my arm.

She was not real talkative today, but extremely needy. She kept leaning into me and against me. She was interested in the camera too.

Again ignore my ugly mug and concentrate on her beauty.

There are almost enough photos of her today for this to be called a photo bomb.

:love
now how can you give her up :barnie:hit
ST Judy will let you keep a few won't she???

I ended up giving 4 turkey eggs to the broody silkie to try to hatch. Hopefully, she does a good job. My muscovy duck just went broody too so maybe in a week, I'll give her whatever I end up collecting by then.

In other news, I sold my first chicken tutu on Etsy tonight lol. Hopefully, they like it. It's always nerve wracking with a first sale. You never know what people are expecting and if you'll meet their expectations. :fl they're happy with it!

What a sweetheart! You’ve gotta find a way to keep her or at least find her a new friend. Maybe put her on a leash and start walking her through the neighborhood, park, etc?

I hate selling on Etsy. I used to do a pottery store and people always wanted custom things. I was always so anxious until they got their stuff and said they liked it. I hate doing custom pieces. I’ve never had a complaint but it’s not worth it for the angst I visit on myself. :gig

I've only had 1 custom request and that was for a broad breasted turkey. They set the standard for me to be able to make them. But you're right, the stress of it when something new or custom goes out is so rough!

Speaking of which, I have 3 tutus going out today, not 1, 3! I swear, people seem to buy things in waves! I haven't had any sales in a week and then between yesterday evening and this morning, 3 tutus and 2 saddles are going out. I hope the mail man isn't frustrated with all the little packages in the mailbox lol

I picked up some orange fabric today. After I finish up the giant stack of saddles that I already started, I'm going to make some hunting season turkey saddles. I'm going to see if I can find some reflective thread or steps to put on them. Would that help any? I don't hunt so I wouldn't know.

I think the purpose of reflective material is to be seen at night. I think the orange saddles are a great idea. You could call them "Safty Saddles". "Protect your free ranging flock during hunting season". Maybe you stick one on Romeo and a couple of his girls & try for a group shot. Throw out some treats in a pretty green lawn (the orange will show up against green beautifully) or field and they would look like they are free ranging. Visuals go a long way!! I'd still dress as many chickens as I could in those great tutus and have them hunting for treats too! A flock wearing tutus would be hysterical!!

There are no parks near me.... or even a real neighborhood..

I think there might be a lot of call for turkonry....
