Wiser words were never spoken. I am anti-people too, for the most part. Mainly the showy, elitist type. Which is why I love chicken and turkey people. they are so down to earth!

Chaos - totally agree about most people..... I deal with people all day, so I am happy to come home to space, peace, quiet and critters - I tend to get grouchy when people interrupt my peace and quiet

Best part of the day...... getting home!

I was so excited last night when the chickens finally let the youngest addition (raised with the bourbons) roost with the rest of them. They have been picking on her for weeks (since we put her in with the other chickens) and FINALLY the bossy birds gave in and let her up to sleep on the roost with the group. I was starting to think I was going to have to give in and put her back with the turkeys. It was strange that the turkeys adjusted to each other really fast, and the chickens were being such bullies. I wonder what will happen when a rooster moves in with the girls......

Will be getting them as soon as I finish building a quarantine pen for them. I have a little dog who loves to play in the snow, she doesn't wear a sweater either because she hates them. So its her own fault if she starts shivering because shes taking to long to use the bathroom.

I have 3 dogs. A Sheridan husky who could live in the snow and be happy, an English Bulldog mix who likes the romp in the snow when is deeper than she is tall (she thinks it's fun), and a soiled twitter mix who hates to be cold. Rocky used to refuse to go to bed in the winter without his jacket on and now, if it's too cold outside when he goes to the bathroom, he will walk super slow coming back in like his body is frozen from the cold lol. He's a bit of a drama queen. If I was too cold, I'd be running!

X2! I couldn't wait to move out of the city and now, I only have 2 neighbors close and one part time hunting cabin near me. I'm ready to move again. Not only to have even less neighbors (even though my neighbors are good people) but to have more space for my ever expanding flock lol. It'll probably be a LONG time until we can afford to move again though.

LOL...just got a call from my chicken/turkey sitter. The turkeys are barking at her and she freaked. Told her to kick the soccer ball for them. That did it. The are happily chasing the ball around the yard. Hard to explain that they expect to have their play time!

That's hilarious! She'll be kicking the ball every time she goes outside now just to keep them busy while she does her stuff. You'll go home and they'll expect you to go do it all the time
