A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

So much high-quality protein going to waste. So many beautiful parks turning into mucky, slimy, bogs-of-eternal-stench. :hit They’re such beautiful birds, but you can easily get too much of a good thing when it comes to untouchable waterfowl.
One is too much when it comes to waterfowl :old

I’ve heard they can get desperate and start trying to mate female birds not their species. Sometimes that doesn’t end well for the unfortunate ladies. Possibly any adult female goose would do if you can’t get the right species, but I may be way off base with that—I’m just speculating.

if you throw them an old hub cap they are just as happy... they aren’t real smart.

I caught my geese breeding my muscovy duck this fall.... she didn't seem to mind too much lol

He’s actually smaller compared to Lucifer but that actually happened with him his girlfriend is a pekin but she’s HUGE almost as big as him. But you are right Luci tries to mate all of the ducks. Thankfully he isn’t too rough with an exception to one smaller khaki who always seems to get a cut on her head from mating. The problem is Luci is dominant and would take the female goose I believe. Also Philip is way less accepting of new flock members he still occasionally chases Clementine and maple who we’ve had about a year and plucks a butt feather for good measure. His besties are the other two pekins he grew up with!

Hahah ok fine make fun of Luce all you want but my Phil is a genius. Gentleman and a scholar!

I feel like maybe he would connect with a Canada I’m going to do research and see if I can find one by spring!
The first step is to make sure you get the permit needed to have a Canada Goose. They are federally protected and some states allow possession through a permit. It is possible that a federal permit may also be required.

No state allows taking possession of a live Canada Goose from the wild.

As long as they don’t start going for the chickens.

Doesn’t matter how it happened. I know it’s awful, but live or die he belongs to the government and us prols aren’t allowed to save them, let alone own them. Best reconcile yourself to the fact that he’s just hanging around. Won’t leave—such a freeloader... Heck, they hang around everywhere else. Why not your little farm? Who knows why geese do the things they do?

Oh don’t worry I know my fiancé used to blab about having a Canada goose and I told him if he doesn’t shut his trap I’m going to sew it up.
We’ve done research and just have gotten busy but plan to apply he called the state to see what we need. But Phil would absolutely be taken away and killed. So although we would like to be official water fowl rehabers in our area I’m not sure it is possible because someone may come and inspect and I’m not ready to bury anyone in the backyard if they try to take my goose. So we’re just going to get the permit for now for everyone’s safety lol. Also we found Phil in a ghetto- an actual project of a city fiancé used to be DPW for he was no more than a week old he looked for the mom for an hour. Just so you all don’t think we are dumb dumbs who kidnapped him. Just dumb dumbs who thought he was a duck!
My biggest recommendation is to not post about illegal activities on a public forum which anyone including law enforcement personnel can read.
