I met a beautiful royal palm tom... I was picking up some unwanted Delaware roosters. The family couldnt figure out why only one of their turkey Tom's would strut. I got the privilege of telling them that their bourbon is a hen. High who would have thought?

I have had a rough go with hatching so far this year. I should be swimming in babies but with all the clears and DIS we may not have enough but we will have to wait and see.. maybe the next few hatches with turn around?

Sure is ashame about Kobe Bryant and his daughter.
We had 6 local/native musicians nominated for Grammys. Blues, Gospel, Writing, Producing. Memphis regularly represents. The Recording Academy stated Memphis is the most important city to American music. Given high praise & all our nominees this year....we didn't win a thing. Oh well. We do have a gal nominated for writing/producing Old Town Road. That hasn't been awarded yet. I'm involved with the Blues Foundation. So spent my day crossing my fingers for old Bobby Rush. And Kingfish. Competing against each other for Traditional Blues Album. 60 years difference between the two. Usually don't bring up our music scene here. But we are at ground zero. Trivia: the Stones hit Satisfaction & Brown Betty are old blues songs. So...if your a music fan...come on down! I'll blow your socks off!!

finally put a door on the turkey coop. Thought sweet girl would like to have a bigger place.

Such cuties! And turkeys always "want more"! Give a hen leggings & a snood for colder weather & she'll want a puffer jacket.

Update on crop surgery patient: her crop is definitely pendulous. Today she was fitted with a compression bandage now that her stitches have had a chance to heal up some. We used 1 1/2 " horse tube compression with wing holes cut out. The hope is that compression will give the crop a chance to heal and shrink back to its normal shape. Next time I'm out in the hatchery where the hospital pen is I'll snap a picture. She hates it very much and it looks like a chicken sweater.
