A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Many times in "the old days" when you had to make your own lye using wood ashes (I've done that), there was scant methods to determine how strong the lye was along with lard or tallow that wasn't rendered properly. Then there is the wait time factor where the lye is changed into soap. I can tell if mine is done by touching a tongue to the bar - if it zaps ya - put it back on the shelf. Otherwise, most homemade soaps nowadays are very very mild. I love mine.
I have no intention of ever intentionally touching my tongue to a bar of soap.

wow you guys were chatty this evening!

I didn't realize you guys were getting snow!! Its 70 here. But that's not good...more storms coming through this evening. Some severe.

Heard the NBA canceled the rest of their season, now the NHL canceled theirs. Everyone is talking about the empty planes they've been on this week. Folks in my firm are out of town a lot. Glad I canceled my trip next week. Is anyone getting worried about this? R2elk....last I saw WY didn't have any cases....but aren't you one of 5 people living in that state?? Aurora.....are you interacting with a lot of people at work?

If this gets worse we may consider renting the bus & heading to WY. Surely R2elk has a spare bedroom for Daisy!! R2elk....we'll bring the hounds!!

Yes, there's a lot of people. Another store about 40 minutes from us is doing a remodel so we're getting a bunch of their people who just don't want to deal with it. I do mostly stocking so I don't interact directly with the people too much but I am around them all day. There's no toilet paper anywhere....people are in a panic, buying it all up. That and sanitizer. I'm not worried about it. If I get it, I get it. I'll probably get sick, get over it, then be immune. No amount of panic will change it lol

As far as smelly stuff, very rarely do I use any. Just regular baby powder deodorant. I get extreme headaches in any perfume section of any store and cant stand being in bath and body works. It's too much for me.

I am surprised that so many people need to stock up. I always have at least a couple of weeks of supplies... Poultry feed I order when I have 2 weeks left, but they have to make it for me and I don't want old feed.
Seeds like most people shop a couple times a week

Coronavirus is turning people into horders. Its crazy! I hope all of us stay healthy.

I can't deal with smells from cosmetic products. Perfume kills me too. Seems like my sinuses get worse or more sensitive the older I get.

Waiting for the storms & tornadoes to roll in. Hope it's not too bad. I'm tired tonight...not looking forward to being woken by storms.

Stay safe down there! I love a good storm but not when tornados are involved.

The power got knocked out here for a few hours overnight. No clue what happened but I didn't get much sleep. It wasn't raining or storming or anything. I was actually tying to get a half decent night of sleep last night too. I went to bed at like 8:30 and had to get up at 2. Power went out at 10:15. The sudden silence and dark woke me up since my incubator and brooder are in my room. I had to run outside and grab the older chicks from the screen porch and bring them in to keep the little ones warm. Now I have an overcrowded bedroom brooder lol. Power just came back on at 1:15. Of course the sudden noise and light woke me back up!

Alicia....I just love it when kids & turkeys bond!! Looks like Lily gives great hen hugs.

We survived the storms. Thunder woke me up but didn't last long.

I never can understand how our power can go out on beautiful clear days. It sure can disrupt your day.

Marigold hopped in my lap again. Landed like a box of rocks. She needs to work on her technique. This time Daisy noticed. She marched right over & grabbed her tail.
