A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I bet she does fine!
When I went out to let the outside turkey hens in, she was off of the nest which allowed me to collect another chicken egg from the nest. When I went out later to shut the chickens in, she was back on the nest.

One of the outside hens is upset because her sister stole her nest. The sister did not come in tonight so she is also sitting on a nest tonight.

You may have to come get poults since I just moved 39 turkey eggs to the hatcher this evening. At least 4 of them are internally pipped with many more very close.

R2elk...cant even leave my house much less come & visit! I still have visions of renting that bus & going on a turkey tour with a couple of crazy coonhounds.

Im glad I don't have to deal with woldd turkeys here. If a tom showed up it would be chaos in my coop!!
As of tomorrow, the barbershops and salons will be open here. I haven't gotten my annual haircut yet. It hasn't been warm enough to even think about it until the last couple of days.

The dentist's office just sent me a notice that as of tomorrow that they will be open normally but with extended hours. I am sure that they are hoping to make up for all the lost business in a hurry.

We are still closed for another month. Although some things are going to open up. Can go fishing and hunting.. only 2 people in a boat. Some parks are opening, but out house, water fountains and buildings closed. Green houses and garden centers open with restrictions. Bars and restaurants still closed except takeout. No haircuts. Emergency dentists only. But we haven't even peaked

It's a political thing. Got nothing to do with sense or science. Govs want to be dictators but are realizing they may have pushed too hard, too fast, imo. DH is really scared, so I have to be "good" even though our wonderfully sensible gov says, "Do as you will, but please be careful. You are big girls & boys. You know what to do to stay safe."

I was just at our big greenhouse. Didn't go in, to please DH, but I was lucky to find a parking spot so they could bring out my overpriced bag of seed starter. The place was absolutely mobbed, and aside from a few "non-essential" businesses closed by city council, nothing much has even been closed, certainly not greenhouses.

I think a lot has to do with the population density. My county has more deaths than the state my brother lives in has cases.

Everytime I turn on the TV, there's Dr. Fauci. They are going to wear out that old man.

One of my neighbors asked if turkeys can get the virus. I had Daisy out for a graze. She heard him. And she's been bugging me ever since. Sounds like all of our regulars here have avoided it so far. Worry about Aurora & Holm....dealing with the public. No word on when we are lifting shut downs here. Although they are rolling out plans. I don't get why the tattoo parlors will be opening. And there are tons of folks making more staying home vs working.
