I didn't see that Ron. We are only 2 hours apart. But seems Little Rock gets more snow then us. As the front moves across the delta and hits the Mississippi River they tend to slide north or south. If it snows I just stay home. Memphis doesn't own snow plows. It's the ice that scares me!

I think he will eventually. He's never really free ranged so I think he was rather overwhelmed with it all. He was still strutting quite a bit and only stopped once or twice when he was confused.

There is no recessive to worry about, the ngng does not exist in the sweetgrass so it cannot be passed on.

Answer was understood. So do turkeys not carry recessive genes than? If one of the cross babies with the hidden "ng" mated a royal palm would you eventually get somebody with two "ngng" genes?

All the genes in a sweetgrass and royal palm are recessive, the toms of a cross would be : b1b1 cgcg ng/N and the hens are regular sweetgrass. If you crossed the hybrid tom to a royal palm you would get pure royals and pure sweetgrass hens but the tom sweetgrass will be like their father: b1b1 cgcg ng/N

I have officially ticked off Ginger tonight. They wanted a feather from his back to see if it was blue based or black based, I saw neither. I had to pull the feather from his back, He did not like the idea at all! I waited until he was roosting to do it, but he still noticed me pull it.
