A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

There's a merlin( it's a type of falcon) hunting regularly in my hay barn. It's doing a great job of keeping out those stupid chickadees and starlings. It only catches flying little birds, it's smaller than a standard chicken. I wish I could make sure it stayed, whenever it hangs around no more flicks of chickadees.

The turkeys give it dirty looks but don't bother much about it.

Budgie has fully decided she would like to be a goose. The last time she did something similar she waded into the goose pool and tried to lay down and dust bathe in the water. I think she wanted to do it in the new goose bath tubs but they werent wide enough.

Also got sad the past few days from the snow, one of my hens has a bare back from being bred and just stands hunched up shivering a lot, so I found stuff laying around the backyard and built a makeshift shelter they can go into to eat or hang to get out of the wetness. It was a success, seen them go in and out all day. They refused to go into their pen during the day bc they hate going in there unless its bedtime.

They are adorable

Haha I know! All of my girls have saddles from her! They still lose their feathers on their backs during mating season though, I assume from the saddle being rubbed on their back from the male. Also sometimes a foot gets underneath if they're moving around a lot! The biggest thing is the protection from big wounds.

Speaking of which, honestly Avocado might be due for a new one... Her pretty print is starting to fade!

It's about that season! My cricut has been cutting like crazy! I already had to replace the rotary blade. I ordered 5 more replacements last night lol. Hourly this thing is built to withstand serious use! Blackberry and Molly are ready for their first saddles.... Blackberry has a bare and scratched spot on her side already (I'm a bit behind getting them on them). So far all eggs have been infertile but maybe that's about to change. If anyone needs the link just to look and see what's available, it's:

2020 was the best year for saddles so far! Probably from everyone being stuck inside and shopping online. I finished the year up with a total of 1175 saddles and 225 tutus sold!
