Some turkey hens can get so excited in punishing perceived aggression towards their family that they fly out to wing punch you! Unfortunately, these moms can accidentally crush poults in their enthusiasm.....

I have a hen that would fly over the fence to beat up the dog she was raised around.

All of my turkey hens have been sweet and patient any time I mess with their babies. The only one I ever have terrible with is my muscovy duck... and she getting ready to go broody now lol

Ditto. Sabrina was a dream, but my Muscovy was terrifying.

I have had hens on both ends of the spectrum. I have had floggings as I was stealing poults and have pulled back a bloody arm on numerous occasions when removing unwanted eggs from under a turkey.

These Sweetgrass hens have been really well mannered. Last year the one hen got up and moved out of my way to let me steal her poults. The two hens in the chicken boxes will let me reach under them for eggs with nothing more than a constant warning hiss.

Same with me. The worst I've had this year was one peck from my first time broody bantam. After that she has been amazing.

I only have 6 birds to sell now not 7. I caught one running into the swamp last night. I tried to follow her but she was sneakier than I was stealth.

Normally I would say she was invited to some critters dinner... but since you are trying to sell. . she will come back with a dz poults

They have done both. I am not sure if I should root for the poults or the predator.

If I had the time to sit for hours, I wouldn't be spending it cuddling turkeys.

@memphis did do that but I certainly don't.

WHAT! THAT MAKES ME VERY ANGRY!! My fam used to live in Oregon and that would be so aggravating if we still lived there. AI and castrating livestock is not abuse. That would make it so hard for all the ranchers..loosing all their income because breeding animals is supposedly abuse.
