Was hot and humid early today so I picked some large zucchinis and froze them for the turkeys this afternoon. They really went to town on them. They all stopped panting after that so I know it was some relief for them.

Always plant a big garden half for me and half for the turkeys. I raid it about twice a week for them and they love it. And it saves on a little bit of feed. I hang cabbage from a rope for them to pick at and give them something to do. There is a few vegetable farmers around here and one of them always plants a late crop of cabbage, and I go and pick leftovers after they have frozen in field and have them hanging most of winter they love to pick at those. Plus a pumpkin farm I get to raid in fall, so all the pumpkins I could ever use. I try to keep that stuff frozen outside all winter to give them a little all winter long. Always heard the pumpkins and seeds were a good natural wormer for poultry. Not sure if it is true but they love the pumpkin seeds.

Wow it's hot already. Almost 9am here. Had to come in and take a break from mowing. I got my first official gobble this morning. I'm going to say Odin my biggest of my 2 males is the alpha and my females are working on who will be queen. They are 4 months. It's so exciting to be home and see and hear them grow and mature. Back to mowing.

Hot here too. It's been in the low 90's with high humidity all week so far. It's working on getting up there today. Of course today, I'm working in the sun :/ We have storms due to come in this afternoon though (we managed almost a week without rain) and then it's going to cool off dramatically. The turkeys are good. I still have 3 or 4 girls trying to be broody but when I tried to give them poults, they panicked and ran away. I have roughly 40 poults right now...too many lol

Sounds like you have your hands full. Not sure how long we have been with out rain. Not home enough to keep track but we have 89% rain tomorrow. Witch is good. My flock needs a bath.

Finally home at the right time to enjoy my glads... By the time I get home the blooms had already died..

Storm clouds moved in across the lake and gave me a break from the sun I wanted to keep standing in the rain for a while but I think I'll go back to the shop early, eat a freeze pop or two and round out the day lol.

Its been raining here all day long cant seem to get anything done. Stopped for an hour long enough for me to do turkey chores. Looks like it might be going to stop now again radar says it should be over for today anyways. At least it cooled things off. Supposed to be a bit cooler next few days
