A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

In my opinion, this is good news. I received confirmation today from Kevin Porter that the required "breeding contract" for the recessive slates has been dropped.

It is very tempting to now get recessive slates. I would love to see a Recessive Blue Sweetgrass be developed.
Recessive Blue Sweetgrass are actually not that exiting. They don't really have much color.

Would like to mix in some of that recessive blue with some of the other colors and see what happens anyways. Would penciling do anything with recessive blue? perhaps a red gene could spice things up!
My understanding is that penciling needs the black winged bronze gene which is why it works with Royal Palms and Sweetgrass. Recessive slate is the bronze gene.

Good morning all
Sunny 😎 and 40f already. Up to 50s.

showers tonight 63 tomorrow and showers.
Very warm for here. Should be snow on the ground.

Yesterday was 50s and sunny. Was going to process a jake or extra tom, but they were out in the yard trilling over grass that's growing. Didn't have the heart to ruin everyone's day. So I cleaned a coop. Lots easier to harvest them when they are fighting. Easy to grab a leg and I'm tired of their nonsense. I have enough meat in the freezer for a few months so if I don't get any more done until spring it's ok.

Yes unseasonably warm here also and looks like it's going to hang around for next 3 or 4 days, but rain. Trimmed trees that were growing up into my netting in one of my large pens yesterday. Still have a few other pens to do. Did process a tom for my son this morning for his Friendsgiving / Friends Christmas. A few to do next week for others Christmas roasters. The extras will be smoked for Christmas and some for Easter :drool Right after Christmas going to start separating my birds into their breeding groups for spring so need to finish trimming in all the pens by then. And it will start all over again
