A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Big Bird looks like such a shrimp next to the boys lol. I love them - they still have such sweet personalities. The boys always look so insulted when I pat their feathers while they are all puffed up  They're all getting beards now, so they must be almost grown up

Amrack is a great idea!! We rode it all the way to Washington to see family!! It was a long trip.

Big Bird is in the group shot - she just doesn't stand out much among the puffed up boys lol. Turkules was in the barn because he was having a belly button day again, and wasn't playing nice while I was feeding cabbage

What is Turkules problem? I find it hard to believe a turkey would pass up the chance to strut with the rest..

Poor Big Bird looks like she is scared with all those rowdy boys around her.

Amtrack....hmmm, there's an idea

I haven't seen any self-blue advertised around here, but I've been keeping my eyes open. I'm sure that there will be more turkeys in general available in the spring.

Self Blue = Lavender, they are two different terms for the same color.

Most people don't know what a self blue is. If you find anyone nearby that is advertising Blue Slates, they are very likely to have self blues also. I personally know people who bought turkeys sold as Blue Slates and what they actually got were Self Blues. Of course if someone is advertising Lavenders that is also what you are looking for.

The closer it gets to spring the more likely people will be advertising turkeys for sale. I would also recommend placing a wanted ad on Craigslist. I have sold poultry by responding to wanted ads.

I will be placing two self blue toms and one self blue hen on the Wyoming Craigslist around the first of February.

Good luck.
