A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

So you think whoever stole them replaced them? I find that kind of unlikely. Were your toms expensive show quality, or rare? Is it possible that your toms simply are changing behavior because of spring arriving or something?

Yep, they replaced them with 6 toms that look just like mine did!

Yes, I have some semi-unique birds in my book. They are good quality bellybuttons and I miss them.

BTW I love you footer! Good job!

Aurora I am sorry for your losses!

Ralph that is horrible!! Its time to set up a light in your she, put a chair under it and interegate them!! Whats your name! Who sent you! Where r the turkeys I loved!

I'm so sorry Aurora. I bet your right. She may have still been in sit mode. What a bummer. I did have to giggle a little when I read you kicked her out on her tail feathers.

Ralph, tread with caution. Sounds like they are plotting something. After all, you did pen up all the girls. A gaggle of gobblers is not to be trifled with.....

Dang it's cold down here. Windy too. Going down into the 20's tonight. Yeek!

Oh my goodness - tons of reading to catch up :p. Apparently I should have kept up while I was sick lol.

Aurora - so sorry to hear about the poults :hugs. I think you're right, she might have still been trying to hatch them and hadn't switched to baby mode yet.

Ralph - That's terrible that your bellybuttons are missing..... Who are we supposed to hear about turkey bedtime adventures from???? Those always make my night, get them back

Chaos - I loved the pics of your turkeys (a few pages back), and the names are awesome. We'll have to consult your son when we get stuck naming birds :)

Holm - Looks like the fodder went over really well....is that to give them greens in the winter? (Probably a silly question, I know)

Well, the lady should be picking up one of my boys tomorrow - hopefully that works out okay and she shows up. Big Bird is still laying eggs faithfully - yay! As soon as my tastebuds start working again, I'm making myself a turkey egg :)

I am not sure how many of you are aware of the "new" facts we have gotten from Kevin Porter on Mr T.

There is some test breeding that has to be done on him to see what he really is. It appears Holms has a very special Turkey.

The problem is trying to figure out what he will throw.

I have just been running the calculator, and find it interesting.

Holm and I have to see if we are on the same page and what we want to do now. I saw some pretty birds in the offspring.

One of our dilemmas is what do put with him. At this point I am thinking of holding back the blue red bronze.

I would breed her back to her Daddy, JJ..

This is what I can get from that:

For some reason I cannot type after pasting one of those charts..

There are a lot of colors on that list I find just a tad too tempting. to trade for an unknown, even a great unknown like Mr T.

If you want to see the for yourself, and make recommendations to the two of us, feel free,

Mr T as I understand it is either:

b1b1 cgcg NN Rr (or) b1b1 cgcg Nn Rr

Not a lot of change but makes huge differences in outcomes.

I have the possibilities of Self Blue, blue, rusty lavender and blue red bronze with him.

Feisty I grow so they have greens in the winter but I might do it all summer... Idk though...

Kevin is confusing me... First he said Mr. T was a Calico and now he says he is a Fall fire?? Turkeys confuse me.... If ge does happen to be a Fall fire I am going to have to find some Fall fire hens or poults...

I am confused too, because he said something that indicated he could be a "dilute" from what I gathered. Of course, me talking genetics to Kevin is like asking Einstein to explain relativity.
