Here are pictures of my poult. He's 18 hours old now. He's got some serious bed-head. It just dried that way. This morning I tried to wash the dried slime off with a hot wash cloth, and it helped a little bit. Then I had to leave him in the incubator longer so he could dry off again.

He seems to have a dark stripe down his back, but it also seems like he has more dark spots than just a stripe. I did not meet his mother until she was two weeks old and had some feathers in. So I can't compare him to how she looked yet.

Well I have 15 Mr. T eggs in the incubator. Hopefully we get some babies.

If you get a baby Mr T, keep him for me! There is a way I can bring him into my flock. Thank you Lady Vet.

If thats a Sweet grass then Mr. T is not. Mr. T was white as a baby. Beautiful baby!!

Will definetly do that! I can get Red bronze and Golden Narragansett if hes a Fall Fire. If he isnt a Fall fire idk what I can get!

Mr. T is a Fall fire

He can produce Red Bronze and Golden Narragansett with my hen.

I just looked at Porter's site where they have a picture of a baby Sweetgrass, and mine doesn't look anything like theirs. (You can see it here at the bottom of this page: http://www.porterturkeys.com/sweetgrass.htm )

The breeder I got my Sweetgrass hen from bought his breeding stock from Porter's. And he kept his Sweetgrass separated from his other turkeys, so I'm pretty confident that Poppyseed is pure Sweetgrass. But the breeder told me that Sweetgrass come in a light and a dark version, and that I was getting a dark version baby. I knew Sweetgrass can have variation, but I hadn't known about any dark and light versions. She is definitely darker than what I expected a Sweetgrass to look like.




Well, if my poult doesn't turn out to be either a Sweetgrass or a Royal Palm, it will prove my hen isn't really Sweetgrass after all. I have four more of her eggs due to hatch May 1st, so I should know sooner or later.

Can anybody show me what a Royal Palm poult looks like?
