Turkeys usually lay seasonally, many times it depends on the amount of daylight and the time of year.

Ralphie do u think people can show turkeys at the Hutch show?

They can and do., I do not have any poults to show, they are all too young. I would show sidekick but he screwed up his middle toe and foot this summer in a snood pulling contest.

They have to be APA. So the colored ones like Mr T and JJ are not allowed to be shown. I have a nice Blue and the young Tom, (yearling) I have thought about but they are not that special.

When my palms were smaller,I clipped their wings in an effort to keep them penned up. Now,after watching them grow,seeing how much they hop and jump up onto things I will never again clip a Turkeys wings.

My palms are crazy. Tonight, both were up in the tree with Princess WAY up there. I was glad that I managed to get her to come down!

I have to ask why? Predators? I don't care where mine get up too as long as they stay on my property

I just feel much more comfortable with them locked up in the coop at night. We live right along state game lands and have had bears in the yard. We've seen raccoons, fishers, foxes, and mink. They're just safer in the coop.

No argument here, I agree. My situation is just different. Bobcats,fox,coyote,dogs and coons are my biggest problem. All of which dislike electricity.

As long as they stay within the fence line they should be fine
