A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I have never had to worm my birds, so I don't know anything helpful there. Congrats on the broody though!

Ralph, you move JJ and Ethel into the gulag? Are you selling your diamond and turkey babies?

Does anyone have issues with turkey poults screaming in the middle of the night... or whenever they sense you are not in the room with them? My oh my, Banshee and turkey dinner are LOUD! They hear you come into the room, make eye contact, quiet down.
Mine are like that they want their momma. lol But it could also be they still don't know where the food and water is.

You should not throw of the turkey vitamin balance.

i have a hen that became broody last night, first night on the nest. i have recently noticed that she seems to be losing weight. is this normal for a hen to lose weight BEFORE becoming broody? it could be my eyes playing tricks on me i guess or possibly just that the other hens are catching up to her finally haha. she seems to be healthy and not injured. has been laying an egg every day or every other day for several weeks. this is my first broody turkey hen so any advice and knowledge is appreciated

Others already mentioned worming. I can give a couple options:

pumpkin, especially the seeds is a natural wormer. Use canned if you have to, but fresh with seeds works better.

Ivermectin (cattle pour on) works great on mites, lice, ticks, worms & can be used on your dogs & cats too. Just use a dropper/syringe without needle to apply directly to skin under wings, near vent & on back of neck. Dosage is .1ml per pound (about .5ml for large fowl, .25ml for bantams & juvenile large fowl & just a couple drops for chicks.

I have no idea what I will do with any of them, I am more a hoarder of birds than a seller of birds.

I doubt I will sell the turkeys and I know I will keep a couple diamond encrusted roosters and all the girls, meaning the one.

I suppose I will be receiving some flack from the DW soon, if all the eggs I have hatch and if some broodies bring me babies. I have the dozen of Ethel's eggs ready to go in today.

Big day planned eggs going into the hatcher, they should all be blue/lavender slates.

I have found out what JJ and Ethel are, A guy on the Minnesota thread told me they are "Togo Turquoise" he has to be right as everything good originates in Togo.
