A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Yes, I have three out and waiting on some. Here is one that was so big it could not get out by it's self.

I also have a Buff Orp that went broody at some point and we had to move her to a brooder so her babies would be safe. Not sure if her chicks will hatch this week or next.

I love when they hatch in the bator. lol But they hatch in their own timing. lol :)

Missed this somehow... I figured they were looking for momma. Chicks don't seem to imprint as strongly, and that was all I ever knew. If a chick screams, it is hungry, hot, cold or hurt. The poults were just looking for a familiar face. Luckily for my marriage, they have figured out nighttime and have quit crying.

Quote: Thank you.

As long as I can keep an older poult in with them that is a few weeks old the little ones will follow suit.
I tell mine good night and cover them up and go to bed. Yes by all means bed time is very important!

Mine are ok unless they want play time, and food or water.

Snuck 8 Turkey eggs under my reliable Molted Java who picked the best time to go broody.. Eggs were on day 10 of incubation, she faithful sat them and tonight I am proud to report that for the very first time I have a 100% hatch on Turkey eggs on my property (notice I didn't say I personally had the hatch rate lol)

I had added chicken eggs to the incubator so they would hatch together, I switched them out tonight, she now has 7 chicken chicks and I have 8 turkey chicks( all sold) nothing beats a broody hen!

Congratulations everyone on your hatches and pending hatches!

I am waiting on a broody Buff Orp to hatch some. I have no idea how many or what she is sitting on or how long she has been sitting on them.

She and her nest got moved into a large brooder last night. I know she has been broody over two weeks.
