A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

He/she was hatched in April. so I should be able to see more manliness I think.

I had thought early on it was a tom, but a couple months ago, R2elk mentioned it being a jersy buff in a post when I showed it's picture. He called it a Jersey buff hen. I have watched it since then, and I am becoming more and more convinced he was right. BUT it was young and not a good picture back then.

It is one of my oldest from this past spring.

My experience is limited to Turkules and the bourbon babies - Turkules was a late bloomer but I could tell at 5 months. The bourbons I could tell between 8 and 12 weeks. The bourbon boys were hatched in August and have considerably more manly features now than Ginger.... I think you have a hen :)

Just got back from shopping with my sister. I barely survived!

HEN .... Ralphie, Ginger is a HEN!! In my humble inexperienced opinion. But I did guess correctly on Banshee. If that counts for anything!

Ya'll know I've been involved with dogs for 30 or so years. I've noticed some folks have a "natural " eye for movement & conformation. That said, Ralphie, your DW named that bird "Ginger ", which I consider sort of a girlie name. May she has a natural eye and subconsciously felt it was a hen.

I was just playing with a new app on my tablet. It's actualy pretty cool :) made Adam look awesome :)

I was told that he hatched in early to mid May so 6, going on 7 months.

He looks so much more manly than my boys!

And way more like a Tom than Ginger does. Who would name a Tom "Ginger". Maybe my DW did pick up some clue he is a she.

The problem with her being a her, if she is a her, is I made fun of my wife for naming a Tom a girls name. I would hate to have to take that back. Well, really I would not take it back, I would just ignore or deny I said it.
