I got my first turkey about a month ago, and I have kinda a weird question...
Long story short, he was sold as an RP, but is acctually a Sweetgrass. Beautifual sweetgrass, I'll get some pics soon. He was supposed to be five months old, he was two months old.
I payed $25.00 for him. Did I win with this deal, or is that no good for a two month old sweet grass?
He's a very sweet jake, and I'm happy with him either way. Just curious if I was cheated or ended up on top. Never gonna breed, so don't really care what he is :-D

Send pictures!!! I'd say that's a good price. I paid $50 for a pure bred rio ( yes a real purebred wild turkey. Not a bronze or hybrid!)

Congratulations and welcome to turkey-dom! You're going to love every minute of it and eventually, will probably want more lol.

I'm not sure if that was a good price or not since I'm still new to all this myself. Plus, I'm not familiar with sweetgrass turkeys (besides how beautiful they are.) I paid $25 for my 6 month old tom, Adam but that may have been a special deal for me lol.

What's the shipping cost for polts? I might be interested in that. What should I do with my new found Tom? I don't need two and it's got a bad foot

Thanks guys! he is an absolutely beautiful turkey, and he was well worth it to me if just for his great personality. I'm already thinking of getting him a hen soon, I've thoroughly enjoyed having him

Maybe a sweetgrass expert will come along :-D I didn't know they existed until research after discovering that he wasn't an RP :-D

That's awesome! We've got wild turkeys in the woods, and Griffin (The sweetgrass) loves talking to the hens
