Maybe you could get him "caponized" and sell him as a pet only. "caponized" = testicles removed.
I wonder if I could do that?
Does it affect their personality?
I should ask it anyone on the Minnesota thread can do that.

With hatching eggs, everything depends on how well the person you buy them off of packages them and how gentle to postal service is with them. I have a dozen shipped eggs in my incubator now and let me tell you, the post office is NOT gentle right now with Christmas season here. They were packaged wonderfully and still arrived with one broken and every air cell detached. I can only see developement in 2 of 12if they hatch, I may have to name them something like rough and tough since they survived the journey. Then again, I don't think those are appropriate names for silkies lol.![]()
Very impressive! Sky hasn't been giving me any eggs over the past few days and I keep finding her "nesting" in random places lately. I hate to keep them confined but I have a lady that wants to buy some chicks and hatching eggs in just over a week. I may not have much choice. They're going to be so mad at me lol
Something that most people don't realize is that you can ship hatching eggs by UPS or FedEx. If you want to pay extra FedEx even has a special handling method available. FedEx is really good about getting packages delivered by ground within 3 days for most places in the continental U.S. Just be sure that they don't ship them by air as air shipping can be very harmful to hatching eggs.

Oh geez Aurora! Your DH may insist you start going to "Incubator Anonymous " meetings!
Can one of you guys explain "Small Eye" defect to me? How does it affect a turkey? Was trying to find more information on it and couldn't.
Ralph...have you figured out how to caponize yet? I'm still hoping Coffee considers Ginger. He doesn't need to be part of a breeding program. He can just be a great pet (lawn ornament )!
Broke out the second incubator today. It's warming up and getting ready to go. Hubby asked me today what I was doing worth all the turkey eggs on the counter. I told him that I'm going to hatch them and that I'm setting them on Sunday. He was worried that they wouldn't be good until then lol. I'm going to be in the dog house tomorrow though. He doesn't work tomorrow... I have shipped eggs coming tomorrow that he knows nothing aboutI was hoping they would come a day early, like every other package that I've tracked over the past couple weeks. No, they're coming tomorrow. I'm in trouble lol. He has no idea that my incubator is full.![]()
