A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Goose down! My goose is having problems with her legs and my Tom won't stop trying rotate with her. My Tom is into any species, he's even tried mating with me

This time of the year Toms are nothing but huge horny toads.

I have had mine mate with a upside down dog dish. Loving a Tom this time of year can be hard to do, but they will be back to normal in June or July, well August for sure.

Ralph, when are you getting Mr. T? And when are the hens leaving the nunnery? Any idea when they will start laying?

I am not sure. I am hoping not for a few weeks. This is MN we need spring before I dare hatch turkeys. Last year I ate the first couple weeks of eggs. I do not want any poults until April. It is just too hard when we are in this below zero weather.

I Have redesigned my breeding coops. I am going to put two hen in each coop, but have them divided. SO basically I am building Turkey townhomes. (duplexes) I want to keep all the turkeys separate so I can mark each ones eggs.

Also using three hatchers I can hatch the poults separately so I can accurately mark who belongs to whom.

I will have 3 hens on Mr T. So I need a three unit condo for them. With three pens. I do not want to move Mr T between pens, I just want him to be able to have his way with all three, then when egg laying starts, he goes home!

Sounds like a plan Ralph.

Way to go Pebbles. I'm assuming she's taught them how to eat? Is she still laying eggs?

This is the last tom I need to get rid of. The bearded lady is my oldest hen who will turn 8 years old this year.

Her beard got to about 6" long last year but then the other turkeys ate it back to what it is now.
