Where are you located? I will have a couple extra Royal Palm Toms.

Memphis, I am still on the fence on the Hen. My problem is the SOP. Weight is 12 points of the judging. In line with that is Breast and Keel, Back and spring ribs and body and fluff, they are each 6 points. That puts 30 points basically on size. MY hens seem small to me. I do not have a scale to weigh them on.

The SOP says young hen 14 pounds, old hen 18 pounds. Having never shown I do not know when a hen goes from young to old. Are they talking a yearling like a chicken? I just do not think my hen is that heavy. I might register her and then pull her at the last minute to give me more time to consider it. I think the entry fee is just a few bucks.

I actually read the SOP several times a day and am just not sure.

It looks like ladybird is hatching one egg today. I checked her surviving egg to see if it was still alive and the darn thing was pipped, so I hurry up stuck it back under there. The other 9 eggs got snagged by the other turkeys, the dog, and probably some chickens when they could get away with it, but it's awful late in the year for broodies. Oh well! I suppose when I get off work I will have to pen her and baby up somewhere so the other birds don't eat the poult, that is, if it's still there by the time I get home. Here's hoping! Poor DH, he doesn't know yet. I'll have to feign surprise!

You and JR should just swap mates the way you both "feign ignorance" and sneak in extra birds, you two would be a match made in heaven!

Hahaha! My big baby DH is quite a handful, I doubt anyone else would put up with him. I love the big guy anyways. He's probably going to know that I knew, he's good at reading me. I'll get a lecture, a big sigh, and possibly he will go sleep on the couch tonight, but it will all blow over.
